Paromea Ronin Bakebo (Shibibo for "the Children of the Anaconda) illustrates the visions and hopes of the Shipibo people of Peru's Amazon Basin, who struggle to protect their way of life and natural resources against the threats from outside intersts encroaching upon their traditional lands. Currently run by the organization of Sister Nancy Crafton and various other members of the community, the program seeks to aid migrant laborers with food, clothing, shelter, legal and medical assistance in one of the most segregated regions of Colorado. |
